Flight to London

Left our unit and got the Metro and train to the airport.  Checked in, through customs, everything going to plan.  Got held up in the departure lounge hallway.  Lots of people and the army was in attendance.  Next minute there was an explosion and the smell of smoke and cordite.   All was well, someone had left their bag unattended and the army blew it up, mess everywhere, glad it wasn't mine!!!  Only a short flight of about an hour over the Channel.
Arrived in London and got the Underground in to our apartment in Queensborough Terrace at Bayswater.  Coming from France we were looking forward to having less language issues...not so...all the staff are Polish and have very poor English.....better luck tomorrow.  Well...it's got to be the smallest room in London, not only can't you swing a cat...you can't even fit a cat in the room!!!  Left the suitcases and went for a walk.
Hyde Park is about 200metres down Queensborough Terrace so we had a walk around the western section of the park.  Past Kensington Palace and the Sunken Garden and were fascinated with the squirrels, they came right up to us, so cute!!  Down to the Round Pond where we watched some beautiful white swans.  Getting late, we walked down to the Bayswater shopping area to get some tea.  Back to our little room for a long sleep to get ready for our first big day in London.

What's the holdup???
