Portobello Markets and London Eye

Another wet cloudy day and time for the Portobello Markets.  The markets are about a kilometre from our unit so after breakfast we wandered down to the famous street.  The street is closed off and the stall holders are most shop keepers along the street and they put their products in stalls on the footpath.  Lots of antiques and clothes and a stack of international food stalls.  The sights and smells were intoxicating.  I ended up having some sort of an African curry on a flat bread.  Delicious.
There was a little rain when we got there but it eased off and settled in to a cloudy day for the remainder.
Got the Underground in to town and did the London Eye.  Even though it was overcast, the views were spectacular of the central London city area.  The Eye doesn't stop but goes so slowly you walk on to the capsule and do one full rotation.  Pam was very apprehensive but had a ball...sort of.  Not sure she saw lots of sights, she had white knuckles but all ended well.
Back towards home, across Trafalgar Square where I just HAD to climb on the lion and then headed to Harrods where we did a short shop, this is a huge place which well need closer attention when we have more time on our hands.
Got home to our bigger room and it looks like the cleaner had kicked over the mop bucket as there is a huge wet patch on the carpet.  Too tired to do anything about it tonight, maybe tomorrow if it causes problems.
