Day in Paris

Bit of a sleep in this morning, not to worry, got the Metro into Paris central without too many issues and wandered around.  Walked around the Lourve (it is closed Tuesdays so we didn't get to go in, when we return after the tour perhaps), along the Rue de Rivoli, shops everywhere.  Visited the Museum d'Orsay and Nortre Dame.  Musee d'Orsay is a wonderful place, lots of history in a very small space, just a little of everything, works from Roden, Gaugin and Monet.  Went to have smoko in the cafe against the clock, Pam was being clever and ordered the coffee and cakes in French....when she had finished the waitress was about to leave and I said,,,what about me....they both looked at me and laughed...I just didn't realise Pam had ordered mine too in her foreign lingo!!!  I'll keep my mouth shut in future...promise!!!
We had just got to Notre Dame they offered a free English tour so we did the tour of about 1.5 hours, fascinating history.  Lit a candle for Pat.  Shared a baguette for lunch.
Really loving Paris, haven't seen the Eiffel Tower yet, but I'm sure it's here somewhere.  Met up with the tour group this afternoon (43 in the group).  The guide, Clarrisse, seems very professional and organised.  The group seem very friendly.  Looking forward to an early morning tomorrow so we can get on the road to see a little more of France.

Bought some wine, beer, proscetta, cheese, rolls and strawberries for tea, fell into bed exhausted.
